Bertrand is a Senior Financial and Private sector development, and a Business Environment Reform Expert, with 15 years of experience. He has benefited from living and professional experience both in Europe and Africa. In Europe, for 4 years, Bertrand has worked in the investment banking field, particularly in the management and administration of investment funds in Luxembourg and Switzerland.
Back to Africa, for the last 11 years, Bertrand has specialized in the international development area, through consulting assignments for top tier consulting firms, such as PwC, around SME Finance, Microfinance, Digital Financial Services, and Business Environment Reform related work. In these fields, Bertrand has worked in several African countries, with field experience in countries such as Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, Comoros and Madagascar. Bertrand has worked with a variety of international development partners, such as DFID, GIZ, the UN, or the World Bank Group.
Bertrand is graduated with 3 Master’s degrees (in Applied Economics, Financial Risk Management, and Microfinance) from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, and HEC-ULiege, in Belgium.
